The Designers Furniture Gallery was incorporated in 1980.  Marilyn S Hansen was the Director of Interior Design for the department store J.L. Brandeis when it discontinued its furniture operation.  Our first home was a 6000 sq. ft. mansion in disrepair at 39^th and Dodge.  We renovated it, submitted it to National historic Landmark, and received it’s designation in 1982.   

The next 18 years were full of projects, large and small, community service projects, as well and an ASID Symphony Showhouse every year.  We trained over 100 Interior Design Students from 1980 – 1998 who were in their internship process.  Among our projects and community service, one high light, Marilyn was chosen to head the Governors Residence Renovation in 1997-1998.  This ASID endeavourer was a terrific 4.2 million dollar success

In 1998 we moved The Designers Furniture Gallery to 121^st & Emmet St. It gave us 8,000 sq. ft. of showroom space, to display our furniture, accessories, lamps, and art.  Space to help others visualize beautiful things displayed for their imagination has become a benefit to our clients.  The showroom supplies our many projects with instant furnishings and possibilities to complete interiors.  We continue to design award winning interiors, train interns and assist community service organizations.  Today, The Designers Furniture Gallery represents over 27 years in the profession of interior design.  Our projects range from renovation of new homes, commercial projects small and large, and sometimes a small project involving our design consultation.
