The Designers Furniture Gallery was incorporated in 1980. Marilyn S Hansen was the Director of Interior Design for the department store J.L. Brandeis when it discontinued its furniture operation. Our first home was a 6000 sq. ft. mansion in disrepair at 39th and Dodge. We renovated it, submitted it to National historic Landmark, and received it’s designation in 1982. |

The next 18 years were full of projects, large and small, community service projects, as well and an ASID Symphony Showhouse every year. We trained over 100 Interior Design Students from 1980 – 1998 who were in their internship process. Among our projects and community service, one high light, Marilyn was chosen to head the Governors Residence Renovation in 1997-1998. This ASID endeavourer was a terrific 4.2 million dollar success |
